Joseph E. Bibbo presently serves as the Company’s
Executive Vice President – Product Advancement and as
Chief Technical Officer/ Creative Technology Solutions
and is a member of the corporation’s Board of
Directors. Mr. Bibbo is primarily responsible for the
overall identification, direction and management of all
Computrition products. In addition, Mr. Bibbo oversees
the Company's East Coast operations.
Mr. Bibbo’s broad-ranged experience and skill set
encompass all areas of the company’s
business. His unique ability of combining his
technological, management
and business acumen to develop and implement system
solutions is a rare commodity. His continued key
insight into the technological arena continues to
provide the impetus for the innovation exhibited in all
current and future Computrition product lines.
Mr. Bibbo received a BA degree from Bates College,
Lewiston Maine in 1981 and majored in both Mathematics
and Sociology. Joining Computrition full-time in 1983,
Mr. Bibbo designed and developed Computrition’s first
products. In 1984, Mr. Bibbo was promoted to the
position of Manager, Software Development and oversaw
the conversion of the
Company’s
products to the MS/DOS platform, as well as the
implementation of the ‘C’ programming language as a base
for all programming. This key decision, as well as the
decision to utilize no third party components in the
Company’s products,
laid the groundwork for much of the innovation to come.
In 1986, Mr. Bibbo engineered the development of the
industries first true, multi-user implementation,
utilizing the UNIX® platform. In 1989, under
the direction of Mr. Bibbo, the company released the
first vendor neutral, operating system independent EDI
module for the procurement of groceries within the
foodservice industry. Mr. Bibbo’s designs for the
electronic exchange of grocery prices
are
still in wide use today.
In
1999 Mr. Bibbo engineered Computrition’s acceptance as
an Oracle® First-to-Market participant.
Computrition was one of just thirty elite companies
world-wide chosen specifically to participate in the
engineering process of future Oracle®
products.
Mr. Bibbo has continued to be the driving force behind
Computritions ground-breaking solutions. Aside from the
companies flagship product line, Hospitality Suite, Mr.
Bibbo and his team have developed unique and inventive
solutions spanning the foodservice industry. From
developing and implementing a world-wide food management
and financial reporting system for the United States
Marine Corps, to the recent innovations of
Restaurant-Style Room Service and Web-Based Bedside Meal
Ordering for the healthcare industry Mr. Bibbo continues
to be a pioneer of technological solutions for the
foodservice industry.
Mr. Bibbo is a member of Health Level Seven; an ANSI
accredited standards organization for the development of
technological exchange specifications for the healthcare
industry. Specifically, Mr. Bibbo participated in the
specification definitions published in Application
Protocol for Electronic Data Exchange in Healthcare
Environments. In addition, Mr. Bibbo served as a
member of ANSI X3J11, the American National Standards
Committee on the Standardization of the ‘C’ programming
language. Over the years, Mr. Bibbo has participated
in numerous industry associations including the
Microsoft Healthcare Users Group, Healthcare Information
and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), IEEE, Mass
Software Council, as well as the International
Association of UNIX® system Users (UniForum).
